She won a gold medal at the 2008 Beijing Olympics for Women's artistic individual all around competition.

Nastia Liukin has expressed an interest in acting after her finishing her gymnastics career. She has appeared in a number of cameos in tv shows. The most notable is Nastia Liukin's cameo in Gossip Girl season 2 episode 12. Liukin is a fan of the show and got the part when producers of the show ran in to her at a restaurant. They found out that she was a fan and they offered her a cameo.
